My Woolworths Loan account debit order went off on 29 March without prior notification and had to pay a R60 fee on a debit order refusal. I notified Woolworths and was told that I was notified via an SMS which I never received. Apart from a bad reflection on my bank status, I was amazed to find this kind of attitude from a professional financial institution. All my other debit orders went off on 3 March without a hitch. And what is the point of presenting the debit and it does not go through? They still wait for payment and I am sure they will call to remind me of the refusal. What if I chose to ignore it as they do to me?
