Customer treated with disrespect
On the 5th May I went to Woollies Waterfront to exchange boots I had purchased from Woolies Canal Walk which were a bigger size than I needed. A coloured male assisted me. He told me they do not do direct exchanges any longer and that I needed to provide the form of payment used at the time of purchase. I explained to him that I had used a gift card which I received a birthday gift and because I used the full value of the voucher I no longer had it.

He said according to their records I used an ABSA card and I confirmed that yes it was an ABSA Canal Walk gift card which I was no longer in possession of. Eventually another lady came over and assisted as he was unwilling to help. She instructed him to do the exchange.
This kind of behaviour is demeaning and inappropiate especially because I purchased a pair of boots for R800 which I could have gotten at another shop at half the price. I felt like a ******** as though I stole it and was totally embarassed to find myself in that situation.

Woolworths prides themselves of great quality and service yet everyday people are treated with utter disrespect by unfriendly, unhelpful and unprofessional staff.

Regards
Ayanda Tshunungwa
