Customer secure - is colour still an issue

My husband and I visited woolworths Eastgate on the 3rd January 2017. We gathered a few items and he needed to fit some of those items. We arrived at the gentlemens fitting rooms and greeted the lady on duty and asked her if we could fit the items. I asked her if I could accompany my husband into the fitting room and she rudely responded by saying "ga go kene basadi ka mo di fitting room tsa banna, situlo ke seo" translated into english "women are not allowed into the mens fitting rooms, there's a chair".

Just to be clear I have no issues with the rules set for the fitting rooms, in fact I didn't mind waiting outside. The rudeness and lack of respect was an issue. Fast forward to 10 minutes later, a couple and their daughter arrives to fit a few items. She greets the couple and gives them a fitting tag, the gentleman proceeds to fit his garment with the door to the fitting cubicle open and the wife and daughter were allowed to gain entry into the fitting cubicle. The staff member on duty did not utter a single word about the rules she so keenly expressed to us.

Sibongile was on duty at the gentlemens fitting rooms at the Woolworths store at the Eastgate shopping centre on the 3rd January 2017.

I ask if colour is still an issue as we are a black couple and the couple who the rules were not enforced for is white.

Her lack of professionalism and consistency is unacceptable.

G Manala
