Compromised quality of flowers

For some reason, the roses I buy at Woolworths (Cape) droop within 1 day. This has been happening consistently for about 3 months now. Perhaps they are being kept in a fridge for too long before being sent to the retail outlet. I stopped buying for about 2 weeks, but after buying roses again yesterday, by this morning they are already drooping.
