Complaint
Here's my story: I visited Woolworths Northgate Shopping Centre this afternoon with an intention to make a purchase using their card and I have never been subjected to so much disrespect and scrutiny in my life by three of Woolworth's employees. What might have triggered this behavior, well I think, could be that I first requested to check for the available limit before making a purchase and that could have possibly raised suspicions that "I might not be the rightful owner of the card".
I could see the two Cahiers talking about me while I was waiting in the queue so much so that when I decided to wait for the Cashier who helped me check the limit, she decided to walk away from her till. When I saw this happening, I then decided to go to her accomplice in gossip and explained the reason why I had to check the limit.
While the Cashier was busy scanning my stuff, a third person came and took my card. I could see her doing checks on the system, the next thing she asked for my cellphone numbers which I gladly provided. She gave the card back to the Cashier to process the transaction, well at least I thought, and the next thing I was told that the card declined. I requested for my card back and I walked out.
Here's the thing: There's plenty of ***** everywhere, I get that, but that does not mean we must be disregarded by your employees just because they don't trust the person in front of them. A genuine client will never have a problem with authentication, however, please do it with respect. The moment you show a lack of trust to a genuine client, you've got to have a recovery plan in place which your staff did not have.
Cards decline all the time, we know that, give reasons for the decline. Twice my Woolies card with a limit of over R10k and owing amount of just over R300 declines and no reason(s) is given. So what am I expected to do? Take my card and leave and then........? If I have to pay a certain amount like the last time, say it, please.
I am a big fan of your brand and have been for years, however, I am not happy that I was treated like a ********* in the hands of your employees. Please address and also let me know what is wrong with my card.
P.S. I took the names of the employees concerned, however, I am not going to mention them here out of respect. I believe that we all are human and make mistakes, fix them, please.
