Buy one - get one free (empty promise)

Good day.

I bought a box of peaches for R33.00 from Woolworth's Food at Jean Crossing (Centurion). It was peaches on a promotion (buy one - get one free) and the last box on the shelf. When i asked the manager if she could give me another type of peaches (or discount) for free - she said in a bad attitude .. sorry it is only for this kind of peaches.

So i bought the peaches anyway and didn't get any discount or something for the same value of R33.00 for free. The weird thing about this is the following. The next morning I went to Woolworth's (just after they opened and very early in the morning) and again - there was the same type of peaces on sale (and again only one box on the shelf).

After the previous day's incidence - surely she should have made sure that the buy one, get one sticker's are removed or that there is an even amount of boxes on the shelves. (other customers are maybe buying this without realizing they could get a box for free). AND WHERE DID THIS BOX COME FROM IF THEY SAID THE PREVIOUS AFTERNOON THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY IN STOCK?

Mostly it was the bad attitude that upsetted me most.
