Blocking of store card because of ongoing looting

I have been a customer of Woolworth for approximately 25 years. As of today I have a substantial available credit and an impeccable credit record. Last month I lost my store card and app**** for a new one at my local store. Two weeks later I received an SMS saying it was ready and I collected it with my ID. I have swiped the card on occasions since then. Today I tried to pay for R340 worth of goods when the card would not go through. After many attempts and the assistants exact words that she did not understand the error messages, the manager was called. He attempted and failed so he called what I presume was the customer service line. After various discussions I was told that my card had been temporarily blocked because of ongoing looting. In what universe was this a reason to block my card. I was not in a store where looting had taken place, I had my ID etc. When I repeatedly asked what has that got to do with me, the so called customer care assistant just dropped the phone. My banks have not blocked my cards but Woolworths have. All this was played out in front of a large queue of people, none of whom were experiencing blocked cards. Woolies, I know you don't care, but you have lost a very good customer for ever. There are plenty of other food outlets who are cheaper who would not do this to me.
