Beautiful gesture of thanks

I am an emergency nurse. I have been working straight through lockdown, at times 11 hours a day for 6 day weeks. I am exhausted. I took this week off as I could see signs of burnout after 5 months of gruelling work. As rewarding as my profession is, I am also really tired, running a home, homeschooling and giving my all in my work. My husband is a surgeon at 2 hospitals so our family has been under a lot of strain. Today I went to the store in Greenside and waiting in the queue, noticed that there were printed shopping bags thanking the essential workers. I can't explain how much it meant to me to see this and to be recognised and acknowledged for the sacrifices we healthcare professionals are making during this time. I appreciate it so much and bought 2 shopping bags, and posted a thank you on Instagram, with pictures of this beautifully designed bag. As we wear extra protective gear at work, I have to carry more than one bag with me, and I will use this one going forward. Thank you Woolworths for making my day and also lifting the spirits of my colleagues, to whom I also sent the pictures to.
