Bad food and customer experience, with “chef”, waitress and manager at Woolworths Nicolay cafe.

Worst experience Woolworths Nicolay Café. Ordering a toasted cheese for my kids, thankfully the kitchen is open plan, I was observing the “chef” making the sandwich and was hoping it wasn’t ours. The “ chef” was spending more time talking and laughing with the other co-workers, I noticed he was squashing the sandwich and I don’t mind people enjoying themselves but not at the cost of the customer or services.

I saw the “chef” place the sandwich at the pickup counter, still hoping it wasn’t ours. After some time I asked where’s the order and not to my surprise it was the squashed toast sitting waiting for someone to collect. While the waitress was putting it down I informed her that the toast was squashed, her explanation was they need to squashed it so that it can stand upright.

I asked her to call the manager. When he came and I asked him if the toast was ok, his stated that he didn’t know what happed from the time they made it, put it on the table and until he got there, as if to say that we did something to it. I had to ask him 4 times, looking at the toast, if he thought is was appetizing, he refused to answer me and the last time said that he can’t comment because he doesn’t eat bread. He didn’t apologise because apparently it wasn’t their fault, he took the meal away and stated that he is taking it off our bill.

So we have a waitress that stated they need to squash the toast to keep the bread upright. We have a manager that can’t comment on the food because he doesn’t eat bread, but he’s managing a Café. I have my hungry kids having waited all the time, only to have our food taken away, no remuneration or business ethics to compensate us in anyway.

This is the worst customer experience I have experienced.
