Bad customer treatment

Woolworths had given me a R150 voucher for purchases on beauty preduce. I then redeemed it online for the purchase of a perfume. Later I was told the purchase was cancelled due to stock unavailability. And the voucher is gone is gone it cannot be reversed. How is that because i could use it for another item that is available. This is a bad customer treatment.
