Bad customer service on Clinique product

Sunday 21/7/24 Tacara beauty assistant Clinique Waterfront, telephonically confirmed that Clinique Smart Clinical Repair wrinkle correcting eye cream was R 574 for 2x15ml pots. She confirmed that twice on the telephone call. We drove through from Durbanville (2 x 30 kilos). She then declined that she ever said that. Caron Muller, a manager at Woolies, also refused to sell the products at that price, as it was a discounted price allready. She made it off as a mis-communication. We asked for something as token of appreciation - or some discount - but they refused. So my wife was **** to, we spent fuel etc to go and buy it. Another manager or Woolies person then appeared and in the end and she gave my wife some Clinique samples. We view this as bad customer service by a consultant.
