BAD Customer assistance from a supervisor
My mother who is a pensioner, had received a pants as a gift but had ripped as she put it on. The price of the pants were R270 and my mom didnt want to leave it and actually find out if she could exchange if to another pants, being woolworths who normally has good quality clothing. My mom approached a Supervisor called THANDEKA (THis is CLEARWATER, ROODEPOORT WOOLWORTHS) and she was blatantly rude towards my mom when my mom enquired about exchanging and explaining that this was a gift so she didnt have the slip. However, my mom had asked for the slip from the person that gave her the gift anyway. Thandeka, was not having it and threw the pants down on the counter and explained to my mother that this was a R1 deal and there is noting she can do. My mom asked her if she is taking her at face value because i gaurentee you if this was another lady with a different skin colour, THANDEKA wouldve been more polite and supportive into actually trying to assist her. But she was not. My mom then proceeded to call the Manager who was so kind and assisted my mom and apologised for THANDEKA's behaviour. However, this is unacceptable. My mom still has not heard anything back from WOOLWORTHS who has taken her pants back. Is this how our country treats pensioners, never mind, NON WHITE Pensioners! It's so despicable. So i am assusming that she would treat non-white people this way, but this doesn't abandon the fact that she didnt want to help my mom with her query, and still made her feel embarressed and worthless by mentioning that the pants belongs in some 'R1' section. My mother, is super embarressed by this behaviour and normally buys her food by woolworths clearwater, but so ashamed to return due to THANDEKA's behaviour towards her.
