Bad client care and disgraceful procedures
I am very hurt and disgusted by the behavior and procedures of woolworths, my mom and daughter went to Woolies Mall of the north in Polokwane to shop for my daughter’s school shoes like any other day but something was different this time as my mom was accused of *****ing because she was seen touching her abdomen and below her belly to scratch herself... immediately after they were done and didnt find the shoes they were looking for plus she was pressed they decided to leave, she was followed in the mall by a lady security guard and was called to return to the store immediately. She told the guard that she needs the loo quickly she will follow her, and even invited the lady to accompany her if need be, the guard refused and insisted that she returns to the store with her she will use the rest rooms in the store, my mom is 57 and was struggling to keep it in but obedient enough to go with the guard, to her arrival she was accused of *****ing something and my daughter was accused of looking out for her while she was *****ing, she was immediately escorted to the control room, where she was laughed at by staff and guards calling her a ***** pointing to her direction striped naked and searched by people young enough to be her kids even after she told them she didn’t take anything, on her way to the room.. Well to their disappointment they found nothing and they started apologizing she didn’t accept it because of the trauma and humiliation she was put through she called me and explained what had happened to her i cried when i heard that because i could tell from her voice that she wasn’t alright I advised her to speak to the manager who claimed not to know anything about what had happened apologized and gave her a cake and ice cream to shut her up, she told him that she can’t forgive them especially because she always buy there the whole family does...she was told that there will be an investigation and will be informed about the outcome regarding the security guard who accused her. A few days later the same manager called her to say the security company will call her and she must demand compensation which I believe should be from Woolies not the security company since she was shopping at the store not with the company, it wa hired by the store and it means they approve the process and manner of which the securities works. I want justice for my mom, we have lost the confidence in the store and disappointed in how they run and treat their customers although it has the best product and we love it, it doesn’t have the right to do what it did to my mom.
