Bad attitude from the supervisor
Good day
The experience that I had today at Woolworths Cresta mall was not nice at all. I went to the store to return shoes due to bad quality, the transaction went well.
What happened was, the lady by the name of Sophie whom I believe she is one of the supervisor was called to void. When she get to the till, she started speaking to me in her own language Sotho/Tswana. As I understand the language, I responded in my own language also wich is Tshivenda. She started telling me that she doesn't understand what I'm talking about. I explained to her that she is the one who started speaking her own language and it is only fair for me to speak my own language.
She continued by saying that she can't understand the language. I asked her, why am I expected to speak her language if she can't speak mine? I told her to speak English.
She said to me Tshivenda language is not a language that is known. I got very offended as that to me is being tribalist, I told her that Tshivenda is one of the 11 official languages in South Africa. She just turned and went back to the call she was on and didn't even bother to apologize.
I take tribalism very serious as this are things that also lead to ************** and xenophobic. She could have spoken to me in English from the word go to avoid all this.
I will really appreciate if you can attend to this matter in highest urgency. I sent you guys email and you chose not to respond.
