APPALLING SERVICE FROM WOOLWORTHS

On the 24th of May 2018 at 16h25 I received a telephone call from attorneys who stated that my Woolworths account had been handed over due to non-payment. My account was in arrears due to my retrenchment in April 2017 and Woolworths was notified of this via email but early in December 2017 I asked at a Woolworths store for the total amount due to them and was told R990. I paid R1 000 on the 13/12/2017

I have not received an account from Woolworths for almost a year and as I had been retrenched my account was blocked so I could not make any purchases.

I did not receive an account from Woolworths after making the payment of R1 000 in December 2017 In February 2018 I received a letter in the post in which Woolworths told me that they are reducing my credit limit. Still no account. Then in April 2018 I received a sms in which Woolworths stated that they wanted a payment of R90 to be made - I paid R100 - and sent them a email asking for an account statement.

On the 24th of May 2018 I received a phone call from the Woolworths attorneys. They told me that I still owe R900 PLUS the attorney fees. I explained all of the above but they told me to go to a store resolve the matter.

I sent ALL previous correspondence to Woolworths Finance and was told - "Dear Mrs MT Roberts Account number: ********** ********** 25 We acknowledge receipt of your mail and the content thereof. Please note, as per our records there is still a balance on the account of R910.82 currently. Let us know when you will be able to make your next payment to prevent your account falling futher into arrears. This will prevent collection calls to you. Kindly take note your statement will follow shortly. Anneline Stoffels"

How can they expect me to pay the amount they say that I owe without proof in the form of an account statement. I have had my account with Woolworths for over 20 years - they have just lost a loyal customer.
