Acces dienid for Essential Worker

My mom is a Nurse and she went to Woolworths Maponya on 24 May 20202 on her way back home from work as she was from her shift. As they were advised that Nurses don’t stand in the cues, she went to the door where the security guard told her that they want to see her permit.

Over and above the uniform and epaulets, my mom was wearing a name tag/badge, with the Department of Health logo and her photo, so that “identifies” her and would be understandable if they asked for her ID to verify names.

I’m not sure how Woolworths works but the permit doesn’t even have an occupation or anything, and for a person to be turned back even though they are identified by uniform and a name tag is strange.

This is why we sometimes prefer to shop in other areas as the service in Soweto is appalling. We expected better from Woolworths.
