Wonga Loans - Breaking agreements during pandemic
My Wonga loan was due on the 10th of May and as far as I was informed by my work I was receiving my full salary. I then later received the news that my company was not that lucky and we would be claiming UIF and as everyone knows during this difficult time that it can be a lengthy wait. I instantly informed Wonga loans as soon as I was informed by my work and I attached proof and paper work. I made arrangements with Wonga loans to push my loan repayment over two months and to the 10th of May/June instead of the full balance on the 2nd of May. Wonga loans agreed to this and has taken the first half off on the 13th of May. And I thought what a helpful loan facility especially during tough times. Only to be sorry to think such high thoughts, I have had several phone calls from Wonga loans stating that I'm over due and as well as been handed over to their collections and lawyer department after they agreed to the payment plan and after they actually took half the loan amount off my bank account. My next and final installment was meant be due on the 10th of June and I keep getting phone calls stating I'm overdue only at the end of the phone call after I have explained everything for them to say their systems are out of sync and apologizing.
This is just utter false hope they give and breaking an agreement between them and their consumer.
After this is all sorted, hopefully this day Will come, I will never associate myself with them again. Especially during such difficult times. Disgusting..
