Wonga Keeps Deducting Money From My Account Then Claims I'm Still In Debt

I am horrified. It was my first time applying for a loan and I chose Wonga - what a mistake. I notified Wonga that I would like to change my repayment date before the day of repayment and Wonga corresponded assuring me that my account would be tracked and as soon as the money owed to them was available they would deduct it. I thanked them and moved on. The same week, I started receiving phone calls from strange numbers - one with a Durban code another with a Pretoria code. I eventually answered one and was asked for my personal details over the phone (why companies still practice this I really don't know) and I refused and was told it was necessary to avoid getting blacklisted. I comp**** but still refused to give my ID number. The people revealed that my Wonga account was in arrears and had been handed over to debt collectors. When I asked them repeatedly how this was possible and that I had already made an arrangement with Wonga I was told that i need to make another arrangement with the debt collectors. This baffled me. I had a deduction by Wonga due on the 22nd of December and the debt collector organised one for the 24th of December. I assumed this meant money would only be debited on the 24th of December. I WAS WRONG. On the morning of the 22nd money disappeared from my account and a miscellaneous amount of R135 was deducted. I only got a notification for the R135 and realised a large amount of money had gone missing because my balance had magically changed. I received no notification of this debit until the next day and it was registered as Wonga. Nonetheless, I contacted Wonga as soon as money left my account and I moved the rest of my money from the account. Thankfully so because on the 24th there was a second attempt to debit money from my account. The debit refused to go through as I'd made sure I didn't leave the money I had already had debited from my account by Wonga. As a result I received an sms that my account was in arrears and that Wonga tried to debit repayment but wasn't successful. After this and emailing Wonga, I checked the status of my account and saw that I now I magically owed an additional R89.95. I have now made arrangements to pay the R89.95 so I can be free of this ****my company at last and move on but I'm worried, after all of this, that they will keep coming up with miscellaneous amounts of supposed debt. No one has gotten back to me since I queried the second attempt to deduct money from my bank account.

I also feel very misled by customer service as it appeared as if the mishap with repayment dates was resolved. This company is keeping me in debt for no reason at this point as they have already taken the money I owe them and have attempted to take it a second time and now claim I owe R89.95 without communicating where it comes from, much like the R135. It is this underhandedness in their dealing that has made me regret choosing them. Never again.
