Wonga - ******!
Wonga. I took a loan and paid it manually, and even sent an email notifying them not to do a debit order as I had already paid. They deducted the money still. When I call them to refund me, they make me chase my tail, where everyday I have to explain myself to all members of staff and they say they will speak to finance or they will refund me in 72hours, which they never did. I have sent them all types of proof, yet they still haven’t given me an explanation as to why they won’t refund me. Now when I call, they hang up on me. At this moment I have reported the matter to Credit Ombudsman, because I fear Wonga will affect my credit score.

01 Jul 2021, 08:13Hi Nontando,
Thank you so much for your patience.
We have received feedback from our finance team and can confirm that their
investigation is concluded.
On your interim statement it reflects that Wonga attempted to debit the R1210.52 but you
had a available balance of R456.07.
That attempt failed and Wonga did not debit your account.
On the 31st of May you re-app**** for a R7000 and it was credited into your bank account.
It then reflects another attempt of R1210.52 but your balance does not decrease as it
was a Failed attempt of a debit order.
Your manual payment of R1208.22 was then allocated to your account and all attempts and
tracking stopped as your balance then reflected as zero.
On conclusion, we can confirm you are not a refund due and your Wonga account is not
in credit.
We hope you have a lovely day further.

01 Jul 2021, 14:11You guys are so confused. I never received R7000 as a R7000. If we are looking at the same Interim, page 2 of 2, on the 31st you deposited R7000 and immediately took the R1210,52. The bank (FNB) agrees with me on this. Which I had already paid for via Standard Bank. So the only thing to do was to either refund me or credit that money to the current loan. So I don’t know where your confusion begins. We are running in circles over a simple issue.

Please check your available balance before the R7000 was credited.
