Dear Hendrik,
Thanks for your message. The recent amendments to the National Credit Act has tightened the lending criteria for loan applications, and we now have a more stringent affordability assessment for customers.
The loan application system picks up a range of affordability criteria ranging from personal and household expenses, transport costs, mortgage or rent, outstanding debt etc.
We are more than happy to send you a copy of your bureau file as a courtesy, to weigh up your loan affordability.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Priscilla Urquhart (Head of Communications, Wonga SA)
