PAID UP LOAN BUT WONGA STILL WANTS TO DEBIT MY ACCOUNT

I have sent 3 emails since yesterday (28/11/2022) & again today, 29/11/2022 referring to REF ***. All these emails were sent to both your collections department (***) as well as customer care (***) I have also contacted your customer care number this morning, but without any success as it seems that customer care does not exist at Wonga

I have app**** for a loan at Wonga in July 2022 with a 3 month payment term. Debit orders for this loan succesfully went off against my account on 02/08/2022, 09/09/2022 & 04/11/2022 & the loan has been paid in full.

Eversince the 25th of November I keep receiving notifications from Wonga that my debit order for the above loan could not be recovered from my account via their Debicheck system.....!!!! Why on earth do you still want to debit my account if this loan has been paid in full by the 4th of November 2022 already??

I am awaiting your urgent response regarding this matter as well as proof that your debit order against my account has been cancelled by latest end of business today.

It certainly is a sad state of affairs if your customers need to write reviews on Hello Peter to get some customer service from Wonga

Hi Lenise,

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

We're so sorry for the delay in responses and can confirm that we are experiencing very high volumes.

We have reviewed what has transpired on your account and can confirm that there is still a balance on your account for

the amount of R293.98 due to the interest and fees that were added on your account due to missed payments.

Thank you for your patience.

The Wonga Team.

Then why do you still want to debit my account for the amount of R1686.87 if there is only an interest amount of R293.98 outstanding?????? I expect you to rectify the debit amount to R293.98 & confirm this, with proof by close of business today! Looking forward to your speedy reply

Hi Lenise,

Thank you for your response.

We can confirm that Wonga will debit the amount owing on your debit date,

which is on the 15/12/2022.

Should you wish to make a manual payment today,

we will gladly assist you with a settlement letter and close the account when the payment is allocated.

Kind regards,
