I had the same experience as one of your clients that also posted on Hellopeter. I have never ever, ever, ever been declined and have used Wonga many times and paid back as promised on the said date. I have always found them to be awesome and on the ball. I have not needed the services of Wonga since last year about October. I had an unforeseen problem just before my payday (being 20 June) and needed some assistance so on or about 17 June I app**** (and had a trust rating of R5800!!) and was declined R2000 with no reason whatsoever and I do have the right to know why!!!. I immediately went into my TransUnion report (which I subscribe to and can check at any time) to see what on earth was going on as I must say, and I am proud to say, I am a loyal and faithful payer, I never ever skip a payment or make late payments that is just who I am and I have a brilliant credit record and hold my head up high and I take offence to being declined outright with no explanation!!!! Shame on you Wonga for not contacting your client immediately to explain and give a reason!!!!! I did save on interest so that is the upside!!!!

The recent amendments to the NCA require a full affordability assessment based on all outstanding debt and disposable income.
Our system shows that your current debt on several retail, credit and loan agreements exceeds your affordability limit. Some of these figures were not captured in the affordability figures when you were previously approved.
