FALSE ADVERTISING

I had a first time loan with Wonga and payment was effected monthly for three months without any default. After the last payment I was notified that I can apply again. My credit rating for approval was R 5 000 which I could apply for. I did apply and was then rejected. I do deem this as false advertising and wish to mention my disappointment at the manner of saying you are good for credit and then be declined. This is false. I want the public to know that what they actually say and do are truly opposites.

Hi Gys,

Thank-you for your feedback.

As a responsible lender, we must make sure that every single application we receive is individually assessed by our systems and, as such, we can't guarantee approval. Whilst we look at your repayment history with us, the system also looks at a wide range of industry data and decides based on a combination of thousands of factors.

If you’d like to learn more about how debt and your credit report works, the Wonga Money Academy offers a range of short, informative lessons on debt that can help you learn money skills that might increase your likelihood of being accepted for a loan in the future.
Thanks,

The Wonga Team
