Continuous harrassment with SMS sent at all hours

I am receiving SMS messages at all hours of the day, although I have not enquired about any loans or have had any business with Wonga. The SMS does not allow me an option to opt out, thus no way of getting them to stop it. An extremely aggressive male answering the phone number provided in the add, who insists on me buying R30.00 airtime before they can stop the messages.

I must stress the fact that I AM NOT A CUSTOMER OF Wonga Finance Sa, AND HAVE NEVER DEALT WITH THEM, OR APPROACHED THEM, IN ANY WAY WHAT SO EVER.

Hello vdb,

Dear Gerhard,
Thanks for your message. Sincere apologies for the harassment that you are experiencing under the guise of the Wonga brand. This is a widespread **** impersonating loan offers from Wonga and I can assure you that Wonga does not engage in unsolicited direct marketing.

Please do not engage with the messages and if you can be so kind to report this our ***** hotline, we will pass the information on to the police investigators to track down the perpetrators and block the offending number. The ***** hotline email is ***.

Apologies again for the intrusion.

Kind regards,

Priscilla Urquhart
