Bad Customer Service
My account got debited on the 12th of Dec while our agreed upon debit date is the 25th of each month. I reversed the funds. There was never a consent from me to change my debit date for Dec. I sent an email asking for clarity on this. 2 days later I got a call that my account was supposedly handed over to collections as it was in 'arrears'. Yes, my account was in 'arrears' on the 14th of Dec for my upcoming debit on the 25 on the same month. How is my account in arrears before the account payment date? If Wonga would've liked to debit my account earlier they should've asked whether I approve or keep my original date. But for them to take it upon themselves and decided when they'll debit, beats me.

19 Dec 2025, 12:59No thanks, I will continue manually making payments on my agreed payment date. After that I don't think I will ever make use of your services ever again.

19 Dec 2025, 13:42I received an SMS reminder a day before (on the 11th) telling me that tomorrow (12th) Wonga will collect my loan re-payment. I ignored this SMS because I thought it was a mistake since there was never a confirmation SMS before the reminder to confirm my December salary pay date. So it didn't make any sense to me. It would've been better if the debit went off because funds came into my account, but neither that was the case. That is my first issue, the second issue is handing over the account to the collection agency mind due, this is still before the agreed upon payment date. If I am to arrange payments I am still going to stick to my initially agreed upon dates in any case. This is the part that frustrates me even more.
Maybe that's in accordance to Wonga's terms and conditions but I'd rather prefer a credit provider who sticks to what repayment dates we have both agreed upon and escalates if I have failed to honour my terms.
