wonderful weddings events a big no no!

I booked the decorator and supplier for a 40th themed birthday party. I paid him upfront and he promised me that he will do his best to make it a memorable event, within the theme as far as possible. Sadly, the night before the event I got a distress call from the venue manager warning me that he was there and that only a few items were left at the venue, and that the decorator sneaked in and out of the venue without getting anyone to sign off on the décor - which were totally sub standard. The party was for 80 people, he had a 2m "theme"display on a table and the two leather chairs he left were old and thrashed - way passed there due date. We told him the party colours were white, gold and green, but the few material throws he left were purple, red, brown and black - completely the opposite. Half of what he quoted for was not delivered. I had to get in another decorating company at number 99 to redo everything myself the morning of the party. I send him a message that I will not be making use of his décor and that he should come and pick it up. I also requested a refund. He is now ignoring me after various attempts to get an answer out of him.
