Failure to deliver within the contracted period. Lack of transparency. Untruthful information

I arranged for my car to be transported from Pretoria to Herm****, paid more than R5000 in advance. The contract was very clearly written to indicate a 3-4 day delivery. The car was collected on Monday, 6 November, at 10h40, but was only delivered in Herm**** on Friday at 20h15. The promise of the company was that the car was an hour away from Herm**** from 15h00. After three calls, it transpired that the transporter had not left Sommerset West. The drivers indicated the deception. In the mobile phone exchanges, I was told that the delivery would be made in 'the next hour'. This was the response which followed my calls from 16h00. Kim Thornton, who did not reply to be e-mails, then called my wife to assure her that the car would be delivered. I called the emergency mobile number twice and was assured that the cargo was on its way. The last call was dropped when I expressed my frustration, which was stern, but not aggressive. My wife had to wait in Main Road Herm****, in the dark, when the car was eventually delivered. It was, of course, impossible to check its condition in the dark. I regard this as entirely unacceptable in view of the exaggerated advertising I was forced to listen to when I called the 0861 call number. I am of the opinion that We Move Cars needs to consider the client who does not transport a Ferrari. I warn other potential customers against using We Move Cars. It does not live up to its promise.
