Disappointing

I placed an order with Wizebooks for my textbooks. The order was placed late, around 19 February 2025. I received confirmation that payment was received and that communication regarding my order would be sent. I received confirmation; however, I was advised that my order would be delayed because one book was still out of stock. I was given the option to either wait till the 4th of March or split my order, meaning both deliveries would be on me. I avoided the double charge and opted to wait till the 4th of March for everything to be delivered together. I received an email 2 days ago without counting the weekend that my order will now be delayed till the 19th of March because the same book is still out of stock. I emailed the bookstore asking them how this is now my fault after I opted to wait on them until they had stock to pay for one delivery for everything. Wizebooks has since made it clear that their policy still stands and none of this is their fault as a business, and therefore I would still need to wait for the delivery and pay for it or else they willing to refund me and go elsewhere. Wizebooks is the only option provided by Varsity College and yes I do understand it's out of the convenience for assisting parents and students instead of having to drive everywhere look for the books, but this convenience has turned out to be an inconvenience because for every delay the responsibility lies with the customer and nowhere does the business take any fault to this or at least waive the delivery considering how long one needs to wait for the book plus pay double delivery even after waiting on them based on their communication of how long the delivery of the books will take. What's worse is Wizebooks is contracted to Varsity College, so they should have a rough estimate of how many students have enrolled for this module. Classes have started, and now it's close to a month since school started with no books. What makes this entire process frustrating is that Wizebooks is only located in Pretoria and does not have other outlets closer to the school, considering Varsity College has campuses all over the country, the delivery fee may seem minor, but it does go a long way in other areas and being a student who is trying to fund their studies this is a massive financial strain all because of their suppliers. Every semester, there is always a delay with at least one or two books.

I am truly disappointed in the service, and yes, I will try to look for the book elsewhere.
