False advertising and refusal to return funds paid for car that couldn't be produced

I found the perfect car online through a dealership in Joburg, I was in the UK at the time. I spoke with a salesman, Sean, who verified the full service history the car had been advertised with. We agreed on the sale and I sent through a R5000 holding deposit. I had been asking for pictures of the service book since the outset. I sent a further R40 000 through, still no pictures of the service book. Just prior to making the final payment I insisted on the history to be evidenced and was told that there never had been a service history in hand and the car didnt have one, which was a dealbreaker for me, I just dont buy without a history. Despite their false advertising they are insisting that the deposit and part payment I sent through are non refundable. They offered me a number of other options without service histories however this is not what I want and I have been very clear about this, I just want the money back so that I can find a suitable alternative. To date I have not received the funds back or any communication from them. They have refused to put me in touch with the owner of the dealership and I have had to pursue them via the Consumer Protector of the Western Cape where I live. Shocking and just feeding such a negative cliché that surrounds the entire industry of second hand car dealerships.
