Unsatisfactory service

I went to Wits Law Clinic today(30th of May) to get help with a faulty device I purchased at Makro that they do not want to replace nor refund even though it has been in my possession for 5 months which is against the Consumer Protection Act. I was told that Wits law clinic helps students in need and unemployed people.

A guy name Mbuso told me that he won't be able to assist me because the cellphone is still within the warranty period which I did not understand and that because my device was worth R6000 it falls under the small court claims, furthermore, he said he can write a letter but he fears Makro will just read it and not respond.

I then asked him to write the letter regardless he then told me that it'll be a process and it will be processed by the 15th of July whereby my 6 month warranty will be out the window.
