CV reference giving bad reference after asking me to put him as my reference

People are evil out there. I used to work for WITS university, when I left the place I agreed with my former boss (Manfred Molomo) who is a Business Manager at the Faculty of science to put him as my reference in my CV. I then wondered why is it taking long for me to find a job, I then pranked all my references and only to find out that the evil Manfred Molomo was speaking ill of me. People applying for jobs must just be careful of people they putting as references and not everyone who smiles with you is genuinely for you
