Wirquin toilet seat failure - warranty not honored

Very disappointed as previously support was very good - warranty not honored. The hinge of a wirquin club toilet seat with a 2 year warrant completely broke 23 months after purchase, (it was not in use for 4 months or longer). Wirquin did not honor the warranty as they believe its not a factory defect, (according to feedback from wirquin breakages due to factory defects usually occur in the first couple of months, this raises the question what does the 2 year warranty cover?) the assessment and call was made based on photos provided. I have several wirquin toilet seats that are 10+ years old, without any issues.

I have now purchased a seat from another manufacturer as I cant afford to potentially replace toilet seats every 2 years. I also equired if there is prescribed manner to use the seat which could shed light on why the hinge failed, none was provided. Without input from the company the assumption is the seat is of a poor quality and youre on your own if it fails towards the end of the warranty period. I've previously had very good support from the company but sadly not in this case.
