Shoddy service and disrespect at Wimpy in Ottery

Today, at Wimpy in PnP Ottery - after a long wait - I had to ask another waitress to call the waitress who was supposed to serve us. She arrived, took the order without a word of explanation or apology and left. The drinks arrived on time but then another long wait began. During this time, I watched other waitresses serve their customers with friendly efficiency. People who arrived after us were receiving their food and still we waited. Finally I had to ask another waitress to call our waitress (again) at which point I had had enough. I could hear her ask a family seated behind us if there was anything more they needed but not once in all this time, were we asked if we were OK nor was an apology forthcoming for the long wait. Maybe if we also had Transatlantic accents....? I informed her that I could no longer wait but I would pay for the juices we had consumed. As I approached the till, she was explaining to the manager and I told him that we had had to wait so long. Without a word of apology, he just turned his back and walked away. The waitress, taking her cue from him, took the money from me and that seemed to be that as far as they were concerned! I have eaten at this Wimpy previously and had very pleasant experiences. I do not know if it is under new management but I have never experienced such discourtesy, unprofessional ism and poor customer service! I must add that the rest of the staff cannot be faulted. They were efficient and friendly and I believe this manager and the waitress in question should take lessons from the rest of the staff at this branch of Wimpy.
