Rotten Food at Wimpy Arbour Crossing, Amanzimtoti

My Wife and I stopped at Arbour Crossing Wimpy for Brunch today 23 March 2017 around 12:00. My wife ordered the grilled chicken fillets and I ordered the Smoked chicken baguette. We sat outside in the breeze and when the food arrived I smelled something rotten and thought it is the wind that is blowing via the garbage area. My wife ate the one fillet and the stench got worse and I told my wife I cannot handle the smell. She then cut the second fillet and spit out the food and the stench was so bad that we wanted to vomit. The chicken fillet was close to a decomposed state and the smell was unbearable. We called the waiter and the manager. The manager came and apologised and said both fillets came from the same package and that it will never happen again and we don’t need to pay.

According to my opinion, having worked with meat as well as handling chicken that started to rot, that it would have been impossible for the person that opened and grilled the chicken not to have smelled the rotten meat. It was grilled and covered with the spices and basting and impossible not to know that you are going to serve rotten meat to the clients. We have received numerous warnings that restaurant staff are being instructed by bad elements to serve bad and spoiled food to customers to continue to spread and create an atmosphere of hatred and violence in South Africa. I am very saddened to say that I had my last meal at a Wimpy restaurant today as this rotten food was cooked and served intentional in my view. A warning to everyone is to be very very careful where you are going to eat. I still and will continue to have hope for South Africa.
