Oh No Wimpy/Famous Brands
July 2020 I was vigorously encouraged by staff at the Park Meadows Wimpy to download the new Wimpy App. The advantage of downloading would be that Loyalty Coins would be earned each time a purchase was made at Wimpy. After downloading and registering, I subsequently experienced problems with the claiming of Loyalty Coins. I reported the matter to Wimpy head office. Kevin from Famous Brands contacted me in order to resolve. 19 October 2020 I visited the Springfield Wimpy in KZN and was advised by the Manager, Nosipho, that I could not claim my Loyalty Coins since that franchise did not have the App software installed. I contacted Wimpy head office and requested that the matter of my coins be resolved. 10 November 2020 I received a SMS from Wimpy: “We are unable to get hold of you re your Wimpy CAS-***-R4P6Q1. Please note the case will be closed after a further attempt within the next 24 hours” I rep**** the same day that the case should not be closed, as I am available on my cell phone and have not had any missed calls from Wimpy and am still awaiting resolution by Wimpy. 12 November 2020 I received a second message from Wimpy, making the same statement as that received 10 November 2020. I once again rep**** that that my cell phone is still working, I have not had any missed calls from Wimpy, and thus do not understand the Wimpy statement that they are unable to contact me. This appears to be a spamming case by Wimpy and their agent Famous Brands in trying to avoid their promise of awarding Loyalty Coins for all purchases made at Wimpy. I am deeply concerned at the Wimpy behaviour.
