Bad, sloppy, disgusting service

1 May 2023 we stopped at Wimpy Bloem1 on the N1, Free State, South Africa. Two tables were open, both needed cleaning and one had a fried egg, chips and other debris on the floor. We had to ask for the other table to be wiped - which the waitress then did - by wiping all the mess onto the floor. We then waited to be served but I had to go and break up a chit-chat of waitresses to do so. Our food arrived cold and greasy. After asking and waiting for the bill I had to go to the cashier to be able to pay. This was a most unpleasant experience which I guess they get away with at this branch as their clients are mainly transient travelers. Our local branches are much better but if they were like Wimpy Bloem 1 we would shun them. Wimpy need to jack up their performance as there are a whole lot of other competitors that do a better job for travelers at petrol stations - Steers , Mugg and Bean, to name just two. We also stopped at Beaufort West Wimpy the next day on our way to cape Town - not quite as bad but the waitresses were more interested in chatting than doing their job. I believe in both cases it was poor management to blame.
