Bland Food and Unprofessional Staff
On 15 August 2026 at 13:15, my friend and myself decided on getting some Wimpy burgers for lunch. Our order was for a Plain Wimpy Burger and a Bacon and Cheese Wimpy burger – Total Amount R185.80. Now, I have to emphasize that I have previously also had a bad experience with Wimpy and did not order from Wimpy for a good two years, hence feel the need to log a formal complaint. Now, I first want to complain about the behaviour of the staff. Unfortunately, I did not request their names, but my purchase was made at 13:42 on the 13th of August 2026, hence I am sure the cashier and the other person can be traced as per shifts – it was two ladies. Upon receiving our takeout, my friend asked if they did add ketchup sachets, upon which they rep**** that they did (and that was the case indeed), but as we started walking away, whilst the two of them were still looking at us, they burst out laughing. Now, whether it was a personal joke shared between the two of them, or if one of them made a comment about us in their native language, we will never know, but I think it is extremely rude and bad taste. Mutual respect is key. Then, unfortunately the burgers were bland and tasteless. It did not even taste like a Wimpy patty, the only way I can describe it, is as if the patties were soaked in water, half prepared and served. Now, at first I thought, I will merely boycott the establishment, but no, that franchise belongs to an owner, who is paying rent and obviously working to toward certain financial goals – and I am sure being in the Cresta Mall, rent in itself is rather costly. Second, the owner employs staff and they get paid to deliver a service and execute their duties in a professional manner. Further to this, there are ample restaurants and fast-food outlets in Cresta Mall, hence competition is real. Now, just around the corner from Wimpy is a News Café, who continuously have breakfast and lunch specials, and I can assure you, their food and service is excellent. I can also confirm that equally is the food and the service from KFC, Steers, Spur and Calisto’s. Hence there is no room, to put a Franchise at risk due to both poor quality of service and food provided. At first I wanted to let this complaint slide, but this is not fair towards the Franchise owner, fellow employees who might be giving excellent service or Wimpy. Unfortunately, I will personally never make use of Wimpy again.

Wimpy at Cresta mall has the Worse people
Sorry to say this but Wimpy at Cresta mall is the worse restaurant I’ve ever had, I waited for an hour for my food and their excuse was the guy at the Kitchen did see my order. I ended up taking my food and leaving they were closing so they were looking for an excuse for no one to stay while they were closing. Wimpy should do something about the staff that was working on the 18/12/2025 they took advantage because we were the only ones there. Coz wow that was bad.
