Willow Crest Motors Randburg - *********
This happened on 8 and 9 September 2023. Willow Crest Motors in Randburg sold me a car that was full of faults. They never told me there was only one key for the car until the time of collection. They intentionally did not have a Dekra test done as agreed upfront and on the day of delivery played it down. Within 24 hours of taking receipt of the car, the engine light came on. I took it to the nearest Dekra and a quick diagnostic showed an extensive list of faults. I then took the car back, made them sign receipt back of the car and canceled the deal. I spent just under R4,000 on this cancelled deal, as I live in Cape Town and in the end had to alter travel arrangements to get back home. The fuel tank on return was about 80% full, which I filled up the night before as I was driving the car back to Cape Town. To date, they refuse to cover any of my lost costs, including the fuel that they in fact became the beneficiary of.
This is not where it ends. The way they handle the financing of vehicles is to say the least questionable. They make sure they handle the applications, then drive the banks to a certain interest rate (one bank even stated on their quote that they were told what the interest rate should be) but seemingly always end up getting the best rate for the client at Wesbank - seems this is where they get the best "kickback" from the bank for bringing the deal to them. Should you want to get the Offer to Purchase and go to your own bank, they state the price of the vehicle will not remain the same - false advertising (as this is not mentioned in the adverts for the cars - certainly not the one that I bought).
Long story short, whilst they seem all friendly and "all for the customer", DO NOT BE FOOLED.
Advice - STAY CLEAR, there are more than enough better options out there.
So the facts are:
1. I have received no apology from Willow Crest of any sort to date.
2. I have received a clear communication from Willow Crest (after I returned the car in September) that they do not intend to provide any relief towards my lost costs (including the benefit they gained from the fuel left in the car).
3. I find complete lack of integrity and disrespect, in the approach provided as it seems that Willow Crest is not trying to provide me with relief, but in fact, trying to "buy me off" to remove this post on Hellopeter. Where are the principles?
My original position about this dealership and how it operates has just been endorsed by the call I received.
This is not about the customer ...............................
