Deceived and Sold a Severely Damaged Car
In August 2025, I purchased a 2021 Kia Rio from Willow Crest Motors and was assisted by Mr Graham Abrahams, as well as the owner of the establishment. During the inspection, I was explicitly assured by both of them that the vehicle was in very good condition.
Barely a month after driving the car, I took it to Tyre Wheel to fit new, higher-quality tyres, only to discover that the control arm had been crudely and dangerously patched up. This is not a minor defect, it is a serious safety issue that could have cost me my life.
To make matters worse, when I later took the vehicle to Kia for servicing, qualified technicians asked whether I was aware that the entire vehicle had been resprayed (not just one panel, but the whole car from top to bottom), directly contradicting what I was told at the time of purchase.
I feel angry, deceived and deeply disappointed in Willow Crest Motors. Selling damaged vehicles under false pretences is unacceptable, reckless and deeply *********. I trusted this dealership and that trust was completely broken. In the end, Kia advised me to sell the car right away, as in a few years it would have little to no resale value. Avoid Willow Crest Motors at all costs!
From Mark the owner of Willow Crest Motors. You mentioned that we sold you a vehicle and after a month you took the vehicle to fit high quality tyres. They informed you that the control arm have been crudely and dangerously patched up. Point no.1 - Surely roadworthy would have failed the vehicle had they seen the control arm which they do inspect. Had they reported a faulty control arm we would have clearly put a new one in as we have a RMI approved workshop on our premises. Hence, how were we to know that the vehicle had a damaged control arm. A control arm is an inexpensive item. Had our dealership been informed we would have gladly assisted to replaced the control arm. Point no.2 - The vehicle came in with minor scratches on various panels. We decided to then send it in for a light blow-over to neaten up the appearance of the vehicle which in my opinion is 100% acceptable. Our repairer uses a high quality paint and does excellent work hence we're prepared to spend money on our vehicles to get them in a tip top condition. Please note that there is no prior accident damage to the vehicle whatsoever. The work done was purely cosmetic. I also feel that is a bit unfair to bad mouth us without affording us an opportunity to address your concerns.
