Worst Accommodation Ever
A group of my friends decided to go away to the Vaal for a weekend and booked a place called “Vaal River Accommodation” the Zebra Unit. (Wild Waters Vaal) It looked quiet charming and we were looking forward to just relaxing.
Upon our arrival, we quickly realised that the photos they had were clearly taken when the place just opened. It was clear that the place had never been maintained over the years.
It was disgusting. - Bugs everywhere (and the room gets so hot and unable to open the windows because of the bugs which means there’s no proper aircon just a small fan which owner Jurie says we should not throw in any water for cooling) - Mattresses lumpy & filthy - We were told it was self-catering, just bring towels. There were no pots / pans (which a R500.00 breakage fee has to be paid on arrival) - The crockery were chipped. - The stove was a little 2 plate on top of the microwave - The sink unit outside were rusted as well as the inside of the fridge - The whole night, it sounded like there were was a snake in the room and the room felt like it was shaking the whole night - There were no hot water to shower with - The shower were full of bugs and spiders - The walk way to the room was half broken and very unstable to walk on - The carpets & curtains were absolutely filthy and carpet looked like it was burned - The ceilings were broken and not maintained in a while We decided to leave without taking a shower or even brushing our teeth and find some other accommodation. We packed out stuff and went to the Owner’s house to advise them. Our knocks were unanswered, we called them to tell them. They didn’t even answer their phones. We sent WhatsApp messages, which were never read or responded to date.
