Restaurant Closed, No Open, You Were Not Here

I took my mother to Wiesenhof at Newmarket this morning. According to Google, it opens at 8AM. We were there at 8h27 and it was closed. The Makro entrance was obviously closed as they do not open at 8AM but the restaurant has a separate entrance that we have often used. The door to that entrance was closed and there was a barrier in front. As my mother was very hungry, owing not only to the late hour but also to her diabetes, we had to leave and went to a different restaurant. I wrote the Wiesenhof to tell them about this. They apologised and said they needed to update the time on Google to 8h30. They also requested my phone number to have a chat with me. I provided this. I then received a phone call from the restaurant manager, who has always been very nice but who, on the phone, denied what had happened. She insisted they had been open at 8h27 but also said the door had been closed for security reasons and the barrier had been left there by accident by the waitress. So, she is contradicting her head office when it comes to the opening time. If she is in fact correct that they should have been open, then it means that for twenty-seven minutes she did not notice that the waitress had left the barrier there. If the opening time is in fact 8h30, then why these other stories, including where she defended the restaurant by saying she was inside. It is normal for staff to be inside a restaurant before opening time. If, however, her earlier claims indicate that the restaurant was already open, then what were she and the staff doing on their own in the restaurant for twenty-seven minutes after it had been opened? There are too many inconsistencies. I did not talk to the manager any further because I would have become even angrier than she had made me with her denials had the pointed out all the issues in what she had said telephonically. Her phone call has only made my mother’s birthday experience worse.
