Worst long term car rental /leasing company - WHYBUYCARS - SHOULD BE CALLED DONT BUY FROM US
I previously did a rating for this company because they asked me to whilst I still was their customer. I gave the rating which was satisfactory as I wanted to maintain good relations with the company and some of the staff whom I dealt with were quite good. But I must tell you the policies of this company is pure *******. When I initially app**** for this leasing option, they had a representative of their company coming out to you to conduct a vehicle inspection. All of a sudden they changed it and you were now forced to make the trip to their offices at the offices where they conducted the inspection and you were made to pay for the upcoming month. This was a horrible process as every month these people were adding costs to your bill which they could not account for. To give an example, I work from home so my vehicle did not do that many km's per month and no way could I exceed the 3000 free kms you received per month, but this one month they billed me for additional km's. They could not even provide a credible explanation as to why they billed for additional km's. At the end of March, when I went in to make my normal monthly payment, I was just told that they have sold the rental which I was driving and that they will give me another vehicle which I did not have an issue with in principle however they wanted me to pay in R800 for petrol as the Renault KWID which I was driving at that time was not filled up. I did not expect them to change the vehicle so obviously I did not fill up the tank. I refused to pay in that R800 and went to go and fill the KWID which only cost me R256. Such ******!! The cherry on this flop of a cake was when I damaged the windscreen on the new rental I had, to this day I don't know how that happened!! However I enquired from a couple of service providers regarding the cost of replacing the windscreen and the most expensive quote I received was from PG Glass at R2600. I did not want to tamper with their rental though so I went in just like that with the cracked windscreen. They than told me I needed to pay on the spot R5000 plus my monthly rental before I can leave with the rental. I obviously could not and I also did not want to as I felt that it was a total *******. I left their car and had to uber home!! They nicely proceeded to deduct R 5 192 from my bank account the next day. I will never recommend this ************ business to anyone!! Their business practice and business model is so flawed and does not serve their customers at all. The only highlight and good thing about this entire horrible experience was the customer service representatives who I dealt with at their airport branch in Cape Town, especially Ashwin who had to struggle to make sense of the billing which they charged at the end of each month. If you are looking for a viable and credible leasing option, please consider Flexiclub from Avis. They are much more professional and they know what the word customer service means and is also very clear what your liabilities and costs will be upfront!! Plus the biggest bright spark with them is that I will not be charged any costs for a cracked windscreen as this is all included in their comprehensive insurance cover!! Unlike the bull**** insurance WHYBUYCARS has. Also let me not forget to also warn you about the R10 000 excess you will be liable for with this ****ers, WHYBUYCARS!! Your excess liability with FlexiClub from AVIS is half of that!!
