Whitfields shocking service to residents

I would recommend any residents in a complex considering switching to Whitfields think very carefully of what they are getting into, and I have chapter and verse to support my recommendation. Before I start Whitfields will reply with all the logical answers under the sun, and I will be made to look like an unreasonable owner within the Plantation Club. However, after many years of unacceptable service I have had enough. Let me be quite clear Whitfields do not manage anything, especially for the residents in a complex. They take a nice fat fee monthly send you an account, send you a absolute inane newsletter and only act for and on behalf of the HOA. If you have a complaint don't bother sending them an email because they won't read it, and they won't respond. Let me elaborate on a recent issue. I have recently had a difference of opinion with our HOA, been accused of threatening a Director without any proof but this was conveyed to 91 residents on a WhatsApp group which constitutes defamation, summarily removed without cause which has led me to issue a lawyers letter of demand and the following has happened; Letter issued direct to Whitfields as they would not supply Director's email addresses which is not a contravention of POPIA on 28th April with a 24 hour action required. Queried why email was only read 20 hours later only to be told that they have a 24 hour turnaround which I as a levy paying resident have never been informed of. In addition the formal emails to *** and my emails to the Relationship Manager were never read as I did not receive a READ notification back! No reply received to my initial email regarding proof of delivery to the HOA. Received an email on 3rd May that their reply had been forwarded to the HOA and they would revert to me. It is now 6th May still no reply and I am not holding my breath. I would have expected some type of progress notification as a courtesy but not a chance I am just a paying resident! Requested proof of 24 hour agreement on 2nd May delivered not READ by all. Requested documents not available on website on 2nd May delivered not READ by all. Requested additional information on 3rd May once again delivered not READ by all! And that is the sum total of this particular issue which has led me to advise Whitfields that other than a complaint to the CSOS regarding the Plantation Club HOA I will be raising an additional complaint with the CSOS going back on a number of instances where rules were transgressed and they never bothered to acknowledge, reply at all in some instances and when they did it was always a sloping shoulders problem between you and your neighbour so neighbours can threaten to kill you with a recording as proof (told to lay a charge at SAPS or a complaint with the CSOS), Wendy Houses in garages (Whitfields - we cannot invade a persons property but if they burn stuff in the garage and our wooden fences go up in flames so what), etc the list is endless. Another example of their service is to send out a Meeting Pack of 32 pages at 16:14 on a Friday for a SGM the next morning at 10:00 with no time to consider a number of issues. My understanding of the Companies Act (replaced by a MOI) is that 10 days before a meeting the document pack should be issued? So at the end of the day we the residents pay over R100k a year only for Whitfields to serve the HOA and it appears that residents are just a nuisance to both parties. I have a lot more that I will include in my 2 submissions to the SCOS. Be careful in your decision as it may come back to haunt you.
