OVERARCHING AND TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE

Whitfield property management does not care about customers. I live at Ormonde View Estate, when they took over in 2018 they messed up the Estate account over charging residents and charging lots of interest. They issue 3 statements different for the same month. I have since complained about the issue and to this day they are ignoring my emails while I ended up having a debt of R23000 that I ended up paying because my name (credit record) is being impacted negatively. Many owners are indebted since Whitfield took over.

Sereko, the simple truth of the matter and one you fail to mention, is that you as an owner in the scheme, with a duty to pay legislated levies monthly to ensure a scheme is able to pay its financial obligations, didn't pay levies from May 2019 to Feb 2020 and that is why you owed the amount stated.

Whitfields as the Managing Agent, acts on the instruction of the elected trustees of a scheme in terms of an agreed SLA.  As the MA we bill owners, follow up on owners who fail to pay levies , and interest, if charged on an owner's account for arrears, is charged in terms of STSMA legislation.

The owners of units in your scheme decide at the AGM on the monthly levy payable by an owner, based on an approved budget of income and expenses. Every owner has a duty to pay the levy every month. If "many owners are indebted since Whitfields took over" it is because they haven't paid their levy.

If owners do not pay the levy every month, how can owners expect the service providers such as security,   maintenance and municipality ( water and electricity) to be paid so that services continue. Where will your scheme's trustees find the money required to pay for these services to continue?
