A horrific experience with greedy unprofessional that will drive you to sell your property

Our complex was given the nasty surprise of a changeover from Angor Property Managers to Whitfields Property Management by our developers in 2018, 2 years into the complex's existence in Rivonia. The experienced has turned what used to be such a great delight of having bought my FIRST own place in 2016 to a horror. So much that I have now put my place on the market because it has become such a bane.

Ever since Whitfields took over, our levies have increased by up to 65% in merely 2 years and Whitfields never give adequate reasons for increases whenever you query. There are endless special levies (with no predetermined ending date) sometimes even R1 500 monthly, for a place that barely requires upkeep due to its lock up and go nature. Cleaning, gardening and security costs increased by 50% from last year.

I currently have a query which they are refusing to resolve. They have overcharged me for hot water by R1 100, where my normal bill is between R200 to R300 and when I aksed for details or reasons, I was threatened with Debt Collection lawyers.

Due to the surge in levies and costs charged to owners, Whitfields no longer hold AGMs. Our year end was 4 months ago and we still have not had the AGM.

DO NOT make the mistake of buying/renting a property where Whitfields are involved. They are a greedy bunch of unprofessional that have a take it or leave it approach that will result in you being frustrated in your own home.
