White Pages ******** - please be Vigilant

Please be aware of so Called Telkom "White Pages" - They are ******** and not From TELKOM WHITE PAGES

I received a phone call to update our Telkom Details on the 23rd of June 2021l, she advised she sent an email.

At the time I was busy and said I will look at it when I have time. This lady kept on phoning. The email came from a telkomsa.net email address so this did not look suspicious.

I filled and send it back. A month later I received a phone call from a lady asking if I received my invoice. Which I rep**** to what is the bill for, where did it come from. She then advised telkom directory.

I responded and said this is a free service according and that I was only to update my details and then she said that I should go back and read the terms and conditions. I advised her that I am not interested in this service as my understanding still was the form I had to complete was only to update my details.. And that I want to cancel the membership. I also questioned why White Pages created a misleading impression about the true nature of its product offering and that it deliberately obfuscates material information in a manner to deceive consumers.

I was then told to send an email to cancel. I then sent an email to have my side of the story on email and she kept referring to the email with the invoice which I to date never received.

Today the lady phoned me again and I tried to explain myself and the situation, but she said that I must pay because I agreed. When I inspected the document after receiving the invoice I saw the text on the document is minute, and very difficult to read and creates an impression that they are trying to conceal the true nature of this offer and cost associated with it.

I told the lady from White pages that I will be reporting them and she rep**** that I will hear from their legal department in regards to this.

Watch out for them.
