White Pages Business Entries (PTY) Ltd - ****

Dear Hello Peter,

I was contacted by 'White Online Pages PTY Ltd' in March 2020 and was told to update our company details as it changed to the details they had on file. I was sent a document and asked to fill it in numerous times. I told the lady that we are very busy and that I don't have the time and we are also not interested in online advertising. I was then informed that its a free SEO and that there will be no fees. But that I had to complete the form and send back asap. So I did.

I did not hear from them again until June 2020 again when they then send me an invoice for R9540 saying this is the service a app**** for - which I had no idea was being offered, nor did I ask for. I told them that this must be some sort of mistake as that its not what I was informed.

They told me to look back at the contract which says in big print: "Free Service: S E O (Search Engine Optimization) to be listed on Google" but in the small blurry print 'I am aware that this is a twelve-month contract (total value of contract, nine thousand five hundred and forty rand only excluding vat) (R9540.00 only) vat is not charged.' I assured them that this is a mistake and I was not told about any service that they offer (still assuming they are the white pages and merely wanted my details) and would not like such service - they told me that there is nothing they can do and I must pay or they will send lawyers onto me.

I finaIly did a cancellation fee payment in December 2020, where to they informed me that i need to send an email to cancel the services, otherwise i will be invoiced for the next year too. I was very upset because why do i pay a cancellation fee and the cancellation wont be in effect permanently. I sent the cancellation email where to i received an email from Ms Naidoo from Laflar Collections to send the proof of payment to add it to the file.

9 Months later I am now once again contacted by ITC Summons stating that i owe White Online Pages R94540.00 and if i dont pay it the company will be listed on ITC. After informing them that i have comp**** with all their requirements to cancel the service. They asked me if someone responded to the email? and stated that if I didnt receive an return email from them that the service isnt cancelled and i owe them the monies.

Kindly let me know what can be done, please.
