White pages

This company is an online directory. We thought they are from Telkom, handling our listing on the Telkom directory. When they call they are very vague about answering questions directly. They won't say No if asked it they are from Telkom, They would just say the whitepages, which every person in South Africa will normally take as the whitepages from Telkom They are definitely not from Telkom. And all businesses know that Telkom send forms each year to renew your listing, so people expect a call from yellow and white pages. They will send a form afterwords for signing, which you should read carefully because in the very small fine print, they slap you with an amount of R6000. Funnily enough their e-mail address is also ********** Any business can get an e-mail at *** but we feel this is to add to the confusion. Another company we know of in our area have had the same experience than us. Also assuming this is Telkom. We feel that there is no transparency. We feel they aim to confuse and trap you into thinking it is for Telkom.
