I work for a doctor's rooms as a receptionist. We received an email at the top it says TELEPHONE DIRECTORY 2019. At first we ignored it. Then a consultant kept phoning (harassing) me, wanting me to complete the form. I told the consultant that we were a very busy practice and couldn’t take her calls. After being told that it was just to confirm our details for the white pages, I told her to resend the form, which I completed and emailed back to them. There was a lot of fine print, that I was unable to read.

A month later, we received an account for R8340. When I phoned and tried to speak to the consultant, I was told that I couldn’t and had to deal with the accounts department. Unknowingly, we had signed a contract. I was told that it was all in paragraph 3.

The more you explain to them that the consultant never mentioned any fees etc, the more they refer you to paragraph 3.

Now they are threatening to hand us over and blacklist us.

We have never found out what service they have provided that they want us to pay R8340 for and it's certainly nothing to do with the telephone directory. It's a total ****.
