Whirlpool/ KIC. Avoid like the plague. Spend your money elsewhere.

Purchased a Whirlpool 5 burner glass hob. Used it just over 2 years when the glass cooktop just exploded. KIC replaced the cooktop at my cost and now tells me that it broke as was not installed properly. According to them, the width of the opening in countertop was 8 mm too small and the length 1 mm too long, and that caused strain which caused the breakdown. They refuse to explain how the cooktop could even fit in the opening if it was 8 mm too small and apparently a 0.12% too large length is enough to cause failure.

It’s obvious the cooktop was defective yet KIC refuses to even consider covering under the warranty and, at this point, refuse to even answer my emails. Stay away from this company.
